Today, I want to share with you another great resource for you folks studying for the California bar exam: BarIssues.com. I have been using BarIssues.com as a tutor for a few years now, but it’s first and foremost a tool for students. BarIssues.com is a website and database that can help you identify commonly tested issues and then find which essays tested those issues in the past (so you can practice them). Are You Kidding Me? The California Bar Exam Is Going to be Two Days in 2017

shutterstock_VLADGRINThe California State Bar Board of Trustees recently voted to scale back the state’s three-day exam to just two days. Starting in July 2017, the exam will include one day of essays and one day of the MBE (like most of the country). The essay day will likely include five one-hour essays and one 90-minute performance test. (Currently the California Bar Exam uses a 3-hour performance test, while the Multi-State Performance Test is 90-minutes). Each day will be weighed equally. [Read more…] about Are You Kidding Me? Can Taking a Break Save Your MBE Score?

an Sleeping while studyingAs we get closer to the bar exam, many bar takers are setting aside time to take three-hour MBE practice exams. (Note, if you have not done this, I would recommend scheduling one as soon as possible.) There are many reasons to do this. First, it gives you a gage of how you are doing on a long set of MBE questions. Second, it allows you to review the law you may have missed on MBE questions. Lastly, it also lets you discover if fatigue is an issue for you.
