Strategies And Tips For The Final Weeks Of Bar Prep

July 5, 2017 By Megan Canty Leave a Comment

Strategies and Tips for the Final Weeks of Bar PrepIn less than three weeks now, the bar exam will be over. That thought likely brings a mix of relief and panic, but this is the perfect time to think about what you can do to maximize your efforts in these final days.

Check In With Yourself

You’ve been studying for a while now, so take a moment to think about what’s working well and what’s not worth your time. It’s easy to listen to how others tell you to study and follow that advice to the letter without considering if it’s working for you specifically. While you may not have taken this exam before, you’ve been preparing yourself for exams for a long time now and you have a sense of your learning style and what study techniques tend to bring you the most success. Be realistic with yourself about what approaches are actually getting you results and which ones feel like simply going through the motions. Trust yourself to identify if things are going well or if you need to re-think your preparation. [Read more…] about Strategies And Tips For The Final Weeks Of Bar Prep

If you fail the bar exam, there are two important things you need to know: First, you’re not stupid and your life is not over. Second, it’s critical to figure out why you failed so you can pass the next time. [Read more…] about Top 5 Reasons Why People Really Fail The Bar Exam

NCBE Announces Change to the MBE: What Does it Mean for You?

October 16, 2016 By Megan Canty Leave a Comment

NCBE

As you may or may not already know, the Multistate Bar Exam, which makes up the multiple choice part of the bar exam, is comprised of 200 questions. In the past, 10 of those 200 questions were actually experimental questions or “pretest questions” that the NCBE was trying out to see if they wanted to use them as real questions in the future. These 10 questions (and you never knew which 10 they were) didn’t count towards your score, which meant the exam was actually scored out of 190 questions.
