Do you struggle with the MBE? You’re not alone! We’ve worked with hundreds of bar takers to improve their MBE scores and pass the bar. And we’ve put our years of collective knowledge into the Practice of the Week (POW) MBE Workshop.
Modeled on our popular Writing of the Week (WOW) options, POW offers a weekly dose of MBE explanations and practice, and you can do it on your own time at your own pace.
What’s Included?
For each MBE topic, you’ll get five video explanations walking through individual MBE questions, along with a paired practice question on the same topic to try on your own. Each of the seven MBE topic areas is covered, along with an introduction in week one. In total, you’ll have 70 MBE questions to work on — 35 in the videos and 35 for follow-up practice.
Here’s what you’ll see for a typical video:

How can POW help me on the MBE?
To do well on the MBE, you need a strategy. POW helps you understand and learn the approach that we’ve found is most helpful for our students. If you watch all the POW videos, and do the follow-up practice questions, you’ll be well-positioned to analyze any MBE question, so you can figure out what law applies, do the legal analysis, and select the correct answer choice (without being swayed by distractors).
I’ve always been bad at multiple-choice tests. Can this help?
We think so! There are a number of reasons people struggle with multiple-choice exams, from issues with time management to substantive knowledge or test anxiety. POW is designed to give you a structured approach to follow for any question, and the necessary practice to start ingraining that approach as a habit. While we can’t promise you’ll immediately be amazing at multiple-choice questions, improvement is definitely possible with the necessary practice and focus.
What do I get when I sign up?
When you sign up for POW, you’ll immediately be able to create your user account and get started. You’ll have access to all content, and you’ll receive weekly email reminders about the topic of the week, starting 8 weeks before the bar exam. You’ll also get access to our MBE Strategies course, which has more general tips and strategies for studying effectively, evaluating your ongoing progress, and other resources to consider using, if needed.
Are these real, licensed MBE questions?
Yes, with one exception. Because Civil Procedure is new and only a limited number of questions have been released, we opted to create our own questions and answers for the Civil Procedure video explanations. The follow-up practice Civil Procedure questions are actual MBE questions. And all other questions in the videos and paired practice questions are licensed MBE questions.
What does POW cost and how long do I have access?
POW is $149, and you will have access for 365 days from the date of purchase.
What’s the refund policy?
Please consult the full refund policy here, and let us know if you have any questions.
What have previous POW students said about the program?
Thank you for helping me pass the February bar exam! The Brainy Bank, POWs, and WOWs helped me remain in control of my bar prep to get a handle on my anxiety that took me out of passing the first time. When my friends ask what made the difference the second time I took the bar and succeeded in passing, I smile and say, “know thy self.” I follow that by explaining how I got control over my studying instead of letting the other bar prep program dictate what to do next. I can not tell you Thank You enough. Thank you for being thoughtful and having the insight to help others traverse the bar exam. Thank you to your team and experts for helping me pass the bar because of their contributions to your programs and website. I will turn to you again in the future when I venture to take the future bar exams that are not UBE states. – February exam taker
